My three year old daughter, Ivy, and I live in Orange, in NSW, Australia, the same town where I grew up. We live in a great little 1940s house which I have enjoyed painting exciting colours. We have a cat called Daisy, a dog called Zeta and a neighbour called Anna, who visits through a gate behind a spiky hedge. I work illustrating stories in a studio in our backyard.

We live a block away from my grandmother, and my parents, of whom my mother is a painter and jeweller, and my father is an architect. My grandfather was a painter as well, so my brother and I grew up in a household interested in colours, shapes, textures and all things visual.

After graduating from UTS in Visual Communications, I worked in the film industry as a production assistant, runner and effects technician.

In 2002 I started illustrating picture books. I love creating characters, giving them emotions and their own small world to live in. I also enjoy the designing and problem solving involved in the creation of a picture book. Some of my books have been translated into other languages and can now be read by people all over the place.
